On the occasion of the 2013 Year of Italian Culture in the United States, AIFIC in collaboartion with Dress in Dreams by Elisabetta Cantone and Francesca Silvestri presented the exhibition “Star Wigs,” a tribute to an exquisite and unique Italian craft associated with the film industry.

The exhibits consisted of wigs and theatrical costumes from films such as The Leopard, Casanova, Marie Antoinette, Barbarella, Moulin Rouge, Cleopatra and others, created by the Laboratory Rocchetti&Rocchetti, Costume Maison Farani, Peruzzi and The One, with their highly skilled artisans.

Special Guest, Laura Delli Colli, journalist and writer, author of several books on cinema, presented the documentary Handmade Cinema. The film, directed by Guido Torlonia and Laura Delli Colli, includes interviews with main figures of the Italian film industry.
