Book Presentation: the volume of poetry, A New Map: the Poetry of Migrant Writers in Italy, by The Company of Women Poets, headed by Mia Lecomte.
At the beginning of the 1990s new poetic voices emerged in Italian literature, thanks to the works of foreign writers who chose our language as their medium of creative expression. This phenomenon has generated a revolution in our national literature, both linguistic and thematic.
The Poets, Mia Lecomte and Candelaria Romero read from their works. Nicoletta Pireddu (Professor of Italian at Georgetown University) places the italophone literature of migration in the context of Italian contemporary poetry. Violinist Diana Le Grande Mollaioli provides a musical atmosphere for the poetry reading.
